How to Tell if You Have a Slab Leak

A slab leak is a problem that needs to be taken care of as quickly as possible. The longer it goes untreated, the more damage it will cause and the more expensive it will be to repair it. A slab leak is most commonly caused by a shift in the ground or a problem with the water line, such as poor wrapping around the pipes or damage to the water line when the slab was originally poured. While it is nearly impossible to physically see the slab leak itself, here are some things to look for in your house that can indicate a leak:
•    A section of floor that is warmer than the rest
•    Cracks along the baseboards or walls
•    Low water level in the pool
•    Astronomical water bills
•    Moisture under the carpets
•    Cracks in the tile
•    Low water pressure
•    A faint sound of running water
These are all indications of a slab leak. If you notice any of these things in your house, do not dismiss them as minor problems. They could be the indication of a very large and expensive problem that needs to be taken care of quickly. If you are experiencing any of these indicators, call Randy's Rooter & Plumbing at 432-520-3030 to have your house evaluated for a slab leak.
